🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Voice Frustration Regarding Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change. Online Platforms Reaction Countless users and merchants have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Updates Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
